Voluntary Off-Site Work Due to Air Quality Concerns

The Bobcat Fire in the San Gabriel Mountains, and other fires burning around the region and state, are impacting air quality on Lab.

Employees working on site who are affected by adverse air quality are released to work from home, if possible, or if not possible to charge to the Early Dismissal pay code (for weekly employees, in one-hour increments of the difference between time worked and regularly scheduled hours for the week; for hourly employees, time not worked for the day). Contractors should obtain guidance from their employers. Please safe any hardware before leaving your work area.

Facilities crews have reduced outdoor air circulation in Lab buildings temporarily, and will reinstate increased ventilation in accordance with COVID-19 protocols once air quality improves.

Any staff members and their families affected by the fires and requiring supportive resources should contact Protective Services at (818) 354-3530 (staffed 24/7) or (818) 393-3062.

In the event air quality does not improve on RDO Friday and through the weekend, additional guidance will be posted on this site.
